The couches were a vibrant orange or blue, and tables of glass stood in front of them. The room was filled with vibrantly dressed people, each one more different than the next and all as fake as the next. Except for maybe the odd one in the back. Her outfit made her stand out like a raven in a room of parrots, and in her lap was a white cup filled with a cherry flavored tea. Her silver eyes are fixed on movements of the crowd, and her gaze never wavers as she brings her cup up to her lips to drink the tea. This beautiful figure was as perfect looking as the rest, yet her features were not fake. None of them. From her pin straight black hair, to her silver eyes, and then to her carved face, all were perfectly natural. She was Wisteria Ambrosia Jaquez. The victor from District 9 who abandoned her district and used her sharp tongue to down the upper districts and the capitol. She was famous, and not in a good way. She sipped her tea some more, and then set the cup on the table before her. She hated attending these parties. She hated hearing those sickly sweet voices. They didn't know pain, suffering, or true heartache. These were spoiled brats who deserved nothing more than the death the had avoided so far. But, who was she to ignore their calls when they invited her to their parties? She was as bad as they were. A murderer. A ruthless individual. She belonged amongst this trash. She deserved the death penalty too, but she was a victor. She had fought that war and was fighting another one. This one much more mental, and much harder. She sighed as the room burst into laughter at the joke of a particular individual, and went back to drinking her tea. She couldn't wait for this particular type of torment to end.[/style][STYLE=width: 400px; text-align: center; font-size: 9px; color: #565656; text-transform: uppercase; margin-top: 0px; font-family: arial; letter-spacing: 3px; opacity: 0.9;]made by kiwii at btn & ote![/style] |

Leon stepped in to the festivities in a formal black suit. His hair was slicked back but not all the way. The font had a slight wave but was stuck in place nonetheless. It was just one of the annual formal parties of the spring. For all the adults to get together during a time before the reapings to just relax. Some of the teens were present as well looking there best, happy and fluttering around. It was funny how things could change when you entered the games. But he pushed those thoughts aside for now. There would be plenty of time later after the party to brew in them. Looking around his blue eyes scanned the place to see where he could fit him self in to. The bar caught his eye but in no time at all a server came around with champagne. Which he took with out a second look at the guy taking a sip.
Thankfully he hadn’t caught any eyes yet and welcomed the emptiness. It wasn’t until he saw a woman with raven black hair sitting by her self. He had seen her around before in Victor’s Village but they hadn’t really talked. He knew her back story all ready so there was really no reason too. He commended her for winning and being a District Nine tribute. Even though he knew better than to congratulate her unlike some here in his district. You had to be in the games to know what it was like on the other side. That was far and few in between unless of course the games were going on. All the mentors would gather and watch hoping they could sweet talk some sponsors in to investing in their tributes. It was a hard game to play, and sitting from the sidelines was harder. For a mentor you had to pick which tribute you’d want to help most. Although you try and help both out as best you can. There is always that star pupil though that you root a bit harder for. Well at least for Leon that’s how it was anyway.
Stroking the beard growing on his chin he decided to make his way over. It’s not like she seemed to be having fun conversing with anyone. Taking long strides over the tall man of Six feet one inch made his way over. She didn’t seem in the mood to chitchat but he sat down anyway inviting him self. Who better to talk to than another Victor? They could both dodge the subject of the games. It was a perfect fit well at least for Leon it was. “Wisteria, right?” He wanted to make sure it was her before settling down. Her looks were naturally beautiful which was a lot to say. Most women would kill to look half as pretty especially in the capitol. They were all a freak show but some how it was beautiful in their eyes. To be all covered in gunk it almost made him sick. She could tell by his eyes that his intent was to come to her and speak to her. She was sure he knew who she was, just as much as she knew who he was. She set her cup down and stared at him with cold, narrowed grey eyes and flicked her long hair back over her shoulder. She smirked at him when he asked who she was, and smartly replied, "And you must be Leon, correct?" Her eyes offered up challenge, but her smile was venomous. She knew his reputation, but yet she knew he was much like these brightly colored birds around her. Full of himself, and easily egged into anger if you worded your sentences just right. But yet, he was the victor before her, and much like herself, a killer. She needed to stay on her toes. "Where you 'invited' to this party or did you come of your own will, dear?" she inquired cooly, her eyes refocusing on a couple of women arguing because their dresses were the same. "How sickening, wouldn't you agree?" she stated, gesturing toward the two as they twittered like angry birds. She would never understand what was so appealing about being coated in makeup and having your body torn apart to look 'pretty'. She herself had no makeup on other than a red lipstain. She looked at Leon from under long, elegant eyelashes and smiled maliciously at him. "That is unless, thats what rocks your boat, Leon."[/style][STYLE=width: 400px; text-align: center; font-size: 9px; color: #565656; text-transform: uppercase; margin-top: 0px; font-family: arial; letter-spacing: 3px; opacity: 0.9;]made by kiwii at btn & ote![/style] |

Leon grinned as she shot the comment right back only it was more menacing. He liked a challenge and honestly no one else here did that. Picking her to converse with had been the right choice even if she was trying to egg him on. That only made this game they had going on funnier. “Me? No, that arrogant asshole wouldn’t be at a party like this.” His blue eye dancing with laughter. Taking a small sip out of his champagne glass before setting it down as well. He laid his hands on the table and clasped them together neatly before him. Leon respected the women who sat on the other side of the table. Even if he showed it or not there was a understanding between the two of them. They were both first class killers and applauded for it. In this district parties were even thrown for them. They were celebrities whether they liked it or not. For wanting to disappear she picked the wrong district to blend in to.
It was hard enough growing up here. Let alone making the decision to come here willingly. If she knew what this district was really like she might have chosen somewhere quieter. That was her own downfall though she had made her bed now she just had to lay in it. Quite possibly that is why she picked this district so she could stick out like a sore thumb. To show everyone else it wasn’t pleasant to win the games but a chore. He’d probably never know why nor would be bother her with questions. She was old enough to make her own decisions and knowing fully well she had to live with them. If the games taught Victors anything it was that, you were stuck with the choices you make. At times Leon wished he had let his teammate take his life. But he was too naïve at the time in his life only wishing his parents would love him. It was a silly thought and that’s why he had no children of his own. Those pressures were too much for him to put on to a kid. But from youth that is all he had ever known. His pupils were like his children only he could push them to the brink and yet they still weren’t his.
His grin still played on his lips as she spoke once more. “I’m a party crasher, wasn’t invited. I would be much obliged if you didn’t tell anyone, love.” Nodding his head at her there banter still holding true. It took a lot more than little quips to get him riled up. No she would have to swing at him to get his feathers ruffled. He did have a reputation around the district and it wasn’t a good one. Mostly fights but he never honestly started them. Just put his fist where there mouths were to show them who was boss. It was a major downfall but he couldn’t help it. That’s how his father was and his father before him a bunch of hot heads the lot of them. He cocked his head to the side look at the women bickering. It was a normal thing in this district, which was sad. Most women here wanted to be just like capitol women. Having the best clothes or the most updated thing there was. It was a joke to him honestly but who was he to say so. Apparently Wisteria took it upon herself to judge; yet it didn’t do a damn thing.
“This is just the pre-party fights wait until things get in full swing.” He pointed out a group of women standing and pointing at others laughing. “They get really feisty after a couple of drinks.” His eyes then went to a group of girls who were by the small buffet table. “And those younger girls, well I guarantee they bully the less fortunate girls of this district to death.” His eyes looked in to her again telling her this was how life was in the district. Shaking his head he picked up his glass once again bringing it to his lips before slowly lowering it. “I’ve seen this my whole life, to say it makes me upset would be silly. To say I like it would be even more foolish. It’s just what is you should know that by now.” She should have seen enough just walking through the district. It was a god damn beauty pageant and everyone knew it even if half the District couldn’t admit it. [/blockquote] Word Count: 757 Tags: Wisteria

"You know, your not as bad as I thought you would be, Leon. Albeit, a little too blonde for my taste, but I like you all the same." she stated with a soft smile, this one true and generously given to him. She pushed back a stray black hair, and watched as a group of yellow shaded women swooped in to where they were sitting, and her face hardened to stone again. "Oh please, miss.. You must tell me where you had your hair dyed at. Its such a unique shade, something they don't offer in the salon, and I do believe it'd look so much better on me." Normally, Wisteria would have ignored her, but here in front of some body else who had survived the games and was also made of more dangerous stuff as she was... There was no room for Wisteria to let her pride be any more damaged by these.. Lowlifes. She stood swiftly, and snatched the woman by the collar of her dress, lifting her easily off her toes. "How dare you?" she snarled, venomously at canary painted woman, standing tall in her heels but well balanced. The muscles in her wiry arms tensed up as her eyes narrowed to slits at the idiot. Give me a damn good reason to not wipe the floor with you right now! My hair and everything about me is perfectly natural. Unlike you, I don't have to be half plastic to look beautiful!" Wisteria was ticked off, to put it shortly. Someone needed to pry her off this girl before her temper really turned into a snarling rage. However, everyone here seemed perfectly content to simply stand-by and watch, which just ticked her off even more. She set the girl down roughly, and stomped out the door of the room, growling obscenities under her breath. All she really needed right now was a really strong drink and some company who wouldn't offend her.[/style][STYLE=width: 400px; text-align: center; font-size: 9px; color: #565656; text-transform: uppercase; margin-top: 0px; font-family: arial; letter-spacing: 3px; opacity: 0.9;]made by kiwii at btn & ote![/style] |

Grinning at her laugh Leon decided that she approved of his answers. They weren’t far from the truth either and possibly more truthful than he had ever been with anyone. He knew how to play his cards right in the district because if you didn’t it would be hell. Even for a celebrity like himself shunning was not uncommon no matter how big your status was. “Well don’t worry I wasn’t here to make a engagement proposal or anything. Do you really think I’m too blonde?” Running a hand over his hair acting as if he cared. But a smile was on his face the whole time knowing she would catch on to his joke. While others would just shift in there seats uncomfortably or try to refer him to their hairdresser. But there was a connection between them whether it was from being in the games or just personality wise. Studying her carefully he saw her eyes crawl over to a group of women. He was about to tell her not to pay attention to them but it was too late. A lady had all ready made her way over her voice high pitched.
Raising a brow Leon looked at the women who had no idea what type of time bomb she was talking too. If she had known any better or wasn’t so arrogant she wouldn’t have walked over. He heard her say something about the shade of color on Wisteria’s head. Still now he hadn’t noticed how dark it actually was because he wasn’t over here to charm the woman. No he was just here to make pleasant conversation but that had taken a turn. He watched as Wisteria’s eyes held rage and knew he couldn’t stop it. Leon could have dragged her out kicking and screaming. Before the thought had time to click with actually doing it she had the women by her collar. ‘Oh shit she’s going to get it now.’ He thought also standing but it was too late. The woman who had seemed somewhat calm earlier had just snapped.
Leon looked at the woman who was taken aback and off guard. She wouldn’t have never stood a chance anyway she seemed way to prissy. Her eyes were as big as melons that Wisteria had the audacity to even talk to her like that. Leon was about to reach in but came up short again when Wisteria set her on her feet. The woman crashing to the floor like she was thrown which made Leon want to chuckle. Instead he helped the lady to her feet apologizing for the scene. He didn’t have too but he felt that it wouldn’t make Wisteria a martyr against the whole town. Explaining quickly she was nervous about the upcoming games. The lady just nodded her head adjusting her dress and stalked off with out another word. Leon stood there for a moment before picking up his glass and draining it. He would need something to hold him while he decided he would go over to Wisteria.
After setting his glass back down he quickly strode out of the party after her. It didn’t take long to catch up since he was so tall and well she wasn’t. He watched as she walked with purpose but had no idea where she was going. Catching up with her he matched her stride slowing down a bit. “Don’t listen to them anyone here doesn’t have common sense.” He decided this would be the best way to start conversation. He knew that she hadn’t done anything to herself after the games. She was one of the few lady mentors that actually hadn’t. It didn’t surprise him though she didn’t see herself as an icon. No just someone who happened to be the strongest and cunning out of the other tributes. All victor’s were just murderers even if he hated to admit it. Then they were idolized for killing other people put on some high pedestal the capitol made for them. He kept his hands carefully by his sides not wanting to touch her. He knew when people did that to him it just made him feel silly and weak. [/blockquote]
